Reviews
This place is a hidden gem in Memphis! It's a cute, petite store sat perfectly on a hill, The best way I can describe it is "Grandmothers home cooking"! Whether you come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner the food is amazing and the workers make you feel at home.
I LOVE going to Gary's to pick up a plate or two. I was recommended by a friend to this place. Location wise, I never knew it was there because I never go down there and wouldn't drive through there at night, but for lunch or early dinner pick up DURING THE DAY, that I can do. The service has always been good to me. The ladies are nice. The atmosphere is, well, it's a corner store with a hot food area.....it is what it is. I highly recommend the fried pork chops, greens, yams, dressing, and fried catfish. Anything else I can't call it. Lines are long during lunchtime, so it is best to go between 10:30am and 11am or after 1p. Otherwise, you will be in a long line.
I love the breakfast!!! And the women that work there are GREAT COOKS!!! It's always the same and on Thursday the chicken and dressing ROCKS!!!
Wow. I from chicagoland and this was the first time I ate here. Let me say this. Good. Good. Good. If you haven't been here, goi got a veggie plae and it was deeeelicious!
The food is truly down home soulful southern home cooked delicious food! But the Mac & Cheese today was disgusting! I was too tired to return it. It tasted like someone put vinegar in it. EVERY time I go to Gary's the food is ALWAYS GOOD! I will keep going but just won't get the Mac n cheese anymore.
